33 of the Best List Building Tips + Secrets

By Allen Jesson

I think list building is the most important strategy you can follow when Internet Marketing.

The reason is fairly simple; when you have a visitor to your web-site, you have just one opportunity for that visitor to take a desired action (i.e. bookmark, opt in, sign up, recommend, inquire, purchase etc.). However, if that visitor signs up to your list, then you have many more opportunities to encourage that visitor to take a desired action.

My tips:

1. Give away a LOT. You will get it back (in one shape or form).

2. Add multiple opt-in forms to all your web pages, give people plenty of opportunity to sign up. I make no apology for the fly in you get when you enter, nor the exit pop up either. I want you to sign up!!

3. Give away a valuable gift. In my case, I give away over 100 free gifts, worth nearly $3,000!!

4. Make your content relevant and keep your subscribers happy. Go over the top. Like I say, give away a LOT.

5. Use drop-down boxes or pop-ups. It’’s a fine line and I know I go over the top, but pop up, drop down, fly in, test them out and see which works best.

6. Use squeeze pages. In other words, a page where the visitor has little option other than to sign up. Of course, you need them to WANT to sign up, that’’s where the ‘’squeeze” comes in.

7. Publish articles and submit them everywhere. Point your author resource box at your squeeze page. More on Article Marketing here

8. Write a review page, publish that on other blogs, again, leading to your squeeze page.

9. Record audios and publish podcasts

10. Use forum postings

11. Use a good tell a friend script

12. Start your own forum

13. Invest in Pay Per Click advertising such as Adwords or Yahoo

14. Write testimonials for other people to gain publicity

15. Publish a viral e-book with links to your squeeze page embedded.

16. Swap ads with other publishers. This can be as simple as ”you show mine, I”ll show yours” all the way through to a genuine joint venture.

17. Run a contest to create buzz

18. Create a membership site only for subscribers

19. Create another opt-in form on someone’’s thank you page

20. Publish a Press Release

21. Purchase ezine solo ads or classified ads in ezines

22. Sumbit to ezine directories

23. Create a giveaway application or plug in

24. Use Top Sponsors” Ads in ezines

25. Give your business card away to everyone you meet

26. Create your own Affiliate program for your own product

27. Add URL links to your email signatures

28. Keep your newsletter off the spam lists

29. Create a 5 day e-course for new subscribers

30. Purchase subscribers (going rate around 30c per subscriber)

31. Copy from the best. Sign up for newsletters. Carefully take note of the different tactics used, from the sign up (was it fly in, pop up, inline etc.?), what type of page was the landing page from the opt in form? After you confirmed your e-mail address? What incentive was used to encourage you to sign up? What was the content like? Copy the best ideas!! What did you like? What didn”t you like? I”m sure you get the idea

32. Use List Hero

33. Use Automated List Builder.

There you go.

Multi Level Marketing Genealogy Leads

By Daegan Smith

Multi-level marketing is one of the many ways that sales can be generated. This allows the agent to use various tactics so people under the individual’’s umbrella will be able to see a product to a customer and thus earn money.

In some circles, multi-level marketing is better known as network or referral marketing. Those who are new to the business will likely ask friends, family and acquaintances first to get that first break before venturing out into the open to find new clients. These prospects are better known as genealogy leads.

A genealogy lead is a list of names that the marketing company has kept on file for future reference. These are usually clients from a firm that is no longer in operation, which can be used again to conduct business.

The competition to get a first crack at the genealogy leads is intense. This is because other marketing companies who also want to grow will try and get these first. Should this happen, the individual must remember that this is not the end of the world.

This is because a client who was called today and is not interested may soon want it 6 months to one year from now. The genealogy leads should then be kept in a safe place so the person can try again later on.

Before calling on the genealogy leads, it is best to come up with a script. It is not that different than making a sales pitch in front of a customer but rehearsing how this will be said a few times won”t hurt since this could mean the difference between making a sale or getting rejected.

Studies show that 2 to 3% of the names in the genealogy leads move or have made other changes. This doesn”t involve numbers and addresses of the people but civil status as well.

The person should find the time to make sure the information here is correct before calling anyone on the list. It will be quite embarrassing making a sales pitch to someone who is already married when the record on hand still says that the individual is still single.

There are various books in the market that can help the agent work with the genealogy leads. First timers and those who have been doing this for a long time but have come to a slump should read it to find better ways to achieve sales.

Wouldn”t it be great if the agent is able to know whether to call this client will mean either a sale or a waste of time. Luckily, there is a way and that is through list optimization. By plugging in certain information, this can determine if the individual is worth calling up.

Again this can change in a few months so the list in the genealogy leads must be kept for future reference.

Those who rely on the genealogy leads should also look at the Do Not Call Registry This will surely avoid wasting time and energy in calling those who are not interested again.

Multi-level marketing is the only way network marketers are able to sell a product to the customer. Aside from expanding the market to other areas, the use of genealogy leads will be useful given that the current one is not yet saturated.

Simple and Quick Lessons on Autoresponders to Enhance Your Internet Business

By Terry Leslie

Autoresponders are by far the most time effective tool that an internet based business entrepreneur can use. Entire internet based businesses have been set up using autoresponders, and in fact have proven that their use can not only save time, money, and energy, but also provide sophisticated education on almost any subject. Autoresponders give you the power to devise an educational and inspirational method of keeping your internet based business associates in the business while they are learning their most basic steps. No internet based business is complete without the use of an autoresponder.

Autoresponders have found their place among everything from internet based businesses to college courses and even physicians” offices. A simple subscription to an autoresponder allows you to personalize your message, bring significant educational, insightful, or inspirational messages directly to everyone on your list, and frees up your spare time.

When using an autoresponder, always provide the pertinent information in a manner that allows all your users to feel as though you are speaking directly to them, encouraging them and bringing their awareness back to their internet based business or appropriate business at hand. Over the course of a few weeks, your autoresponder messages are likely to bring more people on board with training and insight already under their belts. This saves you more precious time. Not only have you eliminated the need to send mass emails, but you don”t have to train every individual from scratch since they have been receiving your information on a regular basis. Since autoresponders can be set to inform your group at the intervals of time that you see fit, you can prevent overload of information that often chases people away while maintaining enough regular contact to keep your people motivated. And the best part is, you can do this without being home, in the state, or even in the country. This is truly set and forget technology.

Autoresponders create a smooth and easy advertising platform for your articles. Saving both time and money, your articles can reach the inboxes of everyone involved on your list. This means that while you are still building your e-business you don”t necessarily have to index all of your articles right away. You can take your time because you are sending them to users who have already show a desire to learn more. Educating your potential customers can”t go wrong in this fashion.

In the meantime, good luck on your journey to success.

The Benefits of Audio Ads

By Daniel Millions

Online advertising has been popular ever since the onset of the Internet. Advertising is used as the chief source of income for the majority of websites, thus making the advertising industry a consistently expanding one. Due to the huge presence of ads, companies are being forced to find innovative ways to reach consumers, who are much more aware of marketing techniques and resistant to classical advertising techniques.

The newest form of advertisement is known as the audio ad, which many believe is the greatest thing since Pay Per Click. Known as Pay Per Play, audio ads are short messages which play when a user lands on a page. They are usually only around five seconds, and run while the user waits for the page to load. Installing them is simple; all the webmaster needs to do is upload a code in to their site’’s backend, and the ads will automatically play.

PPP is incredibly attractive to webmasters, as like regular CPM ads, all traffic is monetized, as opposed to PPC ads, where webmasters only make money from visitors who click. PPP utilizes a bid management system, where advertisers bid for placement on websites. The highest bidders are seen on the most websites, and this competition is particularly beneficial to website owners, as the higher an advertiser pays, the more money the webmaster receives.

Companies are becoming very fond of this creative advertising technique, as it allows them to place their message in to the minds of thousands of Internet users daily. Ads can be targeted to specific demographics, interests, locations, and even times and dates. In addition, the ad is inescapable, unless the user has their sound turned off. Statistics show that 20% of Internet users browse with their speakers off, and PPP websites acknowledge this fact and thus charge a little less to advertisers because of it.

Webmasters get paid no matter what, whether or not the user has their sound on. Unlike TV, radio, and other advertising methods, a user (with sound enabled) will always receive the advertising message, as it is presented to them in their normal browsing activities. There is no way to ignore or avoid it, but being that the ads are so short, they are not excessively bothersome to users.

Like other forms of contextual advertising, PPP ads are played on websites that are relevant to the advertiser. For example, a company that sells home hardware supplies would have their ads placed on a forum or blog of that nature, so each ad would be maximally effective. The advanced characteristics of PPP mean that advertisers need to pay more than they would with other forms of ads, but many companies do not mind the trade-off, as they believe they will receive more benefit for the added cost.

As audio ads become more prevalent and customized, it is expected that this emerging industry will grow at a phenomenal rate. PPP does not interfere with other ads, so in a sense, it is just extra money that a webmaster can pick up by simply adding a code to their site. Being that audio ads have not been around that long, they are only used by a small percentage of websites, and many Internet users may not have even encountered them yet. In the next few years, however, it may be impossible to find a website that does not have some form of audio ad on it.

Good Internet Marketing Home Study Courses: Things To Look For

By Ray Johnson

Running a successful Internet based business is not too different from running a traditional business. Both types of businesses require the business owner to have certain skills, knowledge, and solid networking relationships. One of the best ways to boost your Internet marketing skills is through mentoring. There are a plethora of articles and information on Internet marketing on the Web, and many home study courses that lend you a helpng hand. In this article, I”ll discuss some of the things that you should look for when finding a suitable Internet marketing course for your business.

There are many home study courses out on the web that teach Internet marketing, advertising, and business skills. But there is a lack of good content and good mentors who really know the ins and outs of the digital media product business. If you have tried selling e-books on eBay, you will notice that there has recently been a digital product ban. Many eBay e-book sellers who have been simply posting their digital content on eBay, making sales and e-mailing their products, have found themselves in a difficult situation.

One of the options is to convert e-books into digital media products (CDs and DVDs). A good home study course not only teaches Internet marketing, but also teaches the step-by-step lessons that one needs to learn in order to successfully, effectively, and cheaply convert their e-book information into digital media format. In fact, any good course would not only teach you how to do this conversion, but also teaches you Internet marketing techniques that are suitable for this type of business.

Many Internet marketing courses talk about the usual pay per click campaigns, writing in forums, blogging, etc. But if you”re in the eselling business, you need the specific Internet marketing tools that are effective for your business model. This is what you should look for when you are in search for a good digital media products home study course. Don”t settle for anything less; I know a lot of people who search for individual courses, for example, a course just on Internet marketing, and a course just on digital media products. Because of the lack of synergy between the two courses, it is often difficult for anyone to effectively combine the skills learned from both.

If you”re in the digital media product business, finding a good study course is the first step in reaching your potential and maximizing your profits. Don”t settle for anything less than the best that combines Internet marketing with eselling.

Blogging To Build Your Business Empire!

By Cash Miller

Now I know you”ve probably heard about what blogs are and you”ve probably even read a few but have you ever considered starting your own? Probably not but maybe you should. First for the uninformed I”ll explain what a blog is. A blog is essentially a journal or newsletter that is regularly updated by the person who posted it. It’’s meant to be an informal posting on a particular subject. It might be politics, sports, religion, or even mountain climbing in the Himalayas. A blog can be about what ever you want it to be including your business or product. Blogs offer people the chance to post stories about their own business experiences. They do this because their readers can relate best to each other and understand the trials and tribulations each other faces.

Blogging is a chance for you to tell your story to a much larger audience than you would normally receive. It’’s a chance to spread the word about that incredible new product you”ve developed. And best of all you can tell your story in your own words which can be a lot of fun and very fulfilling.

Nowadays a blog can be fairly easy to setup. There are a number of companies that offer ready made templates to use for your blog. Some are free and some offer their service for a small fee. Sites such as Blog City, Blog Spot, and TBlog can help get you started. But if you want to make money off of your blog then you”ll need to be careful when choosing a host for your blog as some of them will use your blog to post their own advertising instead of you being able to do so.

But once your blog is up even if it isn”t immediately generating much traffic you can set up your advertising. You can sign up with a pay per click program or pay per impression. You can join an affiliate program. Or offer ad space directly to advertisers; although when your blog is new don”t expect much interest in it from that route until you”re more established.

The whole point of a blog is to become known for what you do or the knowledge that you have. By establishing a business blog you give yourself the opportunity to show your readers why they should listen or buy from you. You can use other people’’s blog sites or if you are a bit more ambitious start your own! Either way it’’s about getting more exposure for you, your business, and your product.

Success Is A Measure Of Self

By Gav Shannon

Successful business owners today, know that they must be online to be successful. Where to start is a question many can”t answer. You must do research to give you not just knowledge but a road map to success online. You need to get the practical skills so you can get your business today, tomorrow, and as long as you want into real profit.

It’’s the foundation to your online business success. Without education, it’’s very difficult for you to get the right focus and direction. One of the success formulas of online business is to have a plan and then stick with it. But with the never ending hype and scams on the Net, one can easily be derailed from his/her focus.

It’’s good to put your blinker on and stick with your plan but you should not totally disengaged everything that comes along. Doing so may risk you to miss out some gems that can help to propel your business faster.

That’’s where education comes in. It helps you to see the pros and cons of any new offer that comes along. One is free and another one is one-time payment. The free one you can get from some of the free content that is available online.

The other you can pay for. And depending on the provider the cost can vary substantially
There are many providers of knowledge online, but the quality of the deliverer can vary as as much as the price its self.

But Basically they all say the same thing you have to gain credibility with the market for which you are in. You have to show that what you are doing actually works and have others agree that this is in fact the case.

So if someone other than you says to another that you are indeed the best or that you do have the best solution to their problems, how much more believable will that person’’s statement be. The answer is “definitely more.”

Accordingly, referrals and networking systems are not only important because they create an awareness of your business (or because they create traffic in the online world), but also they are important to the degree to which third party marketing indirectly communicates greater credibility, superiority and value of the products or services you offer.

So you have to define for yourself what is your definition of success online. Is internet marketing success to have a web site live, or is it to have some set number of pages online. Or is internet success to you some amount of income. Or maybe internet marketing success is some combination of all of these. Maybe for you it is the freedom of working for yourself, but also incorporates a measure of income. But it is really up to you to set your level of success.

Once you have achieved this level and you feel good about you achievements then you can say you have succeeded and success is yours.

Web Site Copywriting Not Working? Add Beef To Your Benefits

By Cathy Goodwin

Recently, while sorting through my e-mail messages, I found this question from an e-zine subscriber:

I”ve recited the copywriting mantra - features and benefits, features and benefits - over and over again. My sales letters practically scream benefits. But I am not getting results. What’’s going on?

When you start to write copy — the words that motivate visitors to buy — you probably learned the difference between features and benefits. For example, your unique 3-step time management program is a feature; “gaining an extra 2 hours a day” is a benefit.

But when sales letters deliver results, they do not just promise benefits. They showcase Beefy Benefits.

Beefy Benefits are big, juicy and filled with flavor. They make the reader’’s mouth water. They create vivid images and awaken the reader’’s senses. And they don”t just make airy promises: they”re accompanied by a hint of features so you know they”re for real.

Bland, watery benefits make the reader’’s eyes glaze over. You might as well invite guests to a steak dinner, skip the main course and serve up limp overcooked broccoli.

Here’’s an example from a sales letter I just received, inviting me to purchase an information product I”ll call “The Powerful Woman Program” or PWP. (Details of the real product are disguised.)

I suspect the PWP product is a good one. But many readers will never get a chance to find out.

The product supposedly is about helping women discover their inner strengths and become more independent. So we”re promised benefits like these:

* View Overwhelm as a Blessing, Not a Curse
* Create Your Own Inner Circle of Strength:
* Win With the Three Ss of Stamina, Strength and Success
* Recognize that the Best Way to Join a Winning Team is to Create One
* Take Charge of Your Choices

Did you start yawning halfway down? I sure did. Let’’s turn these watery ho-hums into Beefy Benefits:

* ”Discover why women’’s brains are hard-wired for time management (so you gain hours every day from a special kind of multi-tasking)

* ”Create your own army of advocates who fight for your success (so you reach your goals faster and more effortlessly than you ever believed possible).”

* ”Learn 1 simple step to start building your confidence today (so you start saying ”yes” to life-changing opportunities).”

Needless to say, I”m not presenting these bullets as finished copy. When you are a client, your copywriter should spend a lot of time digging into target market, position and a host of other topics.

But aren”t these new benefits more…well, beefy?

Once you understand these principles, you can start attracting nibbles to your own offers. You can make sure your copywriter doesn”t turn out limp substitutes like the “before” bullets we just reviewed.

Of course, in all fairness, I have to add: copywriters work with what you give them. So you need to start building Beefy Benefits into your product well before you write The End. Think of adding beef to every chapter title, every how-to exercise and every section.

Then, if you”re chosen your market, you should see an increase in revenue while you have more time to relax and enjoy quality time with your family.

And that’’s the Ultimate Benefit of stocking your website with Beefy Benefits.

Why Is My Google Ranking Not Improving?

By Jim Pretin

Google is by far the most important search engine on the net. To rise to the top of their search engine, you need to improve your link popularity and you need to understand how they measure your link popularity (over 50% of all search engine traffic comes from Google, and if you can rise to the top, you will likely rise to the top of all the other search engines as well).

Link popularity is defined as the number of sites that are linking to your site. Some websites have thousands or even millions of sites linking to them, while others might have only a few. The search engines use the number of inbound links your site has as a measure of how important your site is, which translates into your search engine ranking.

The actual number of links to your site is not the only variable used to calculate your link popularity. The search engines also examine the relevance of the links to the subject matter of your site. For example, if a website that sells vitamins has 4,000 inbound links, but the source of most of the links are websites that have nothing to do with vitamins, then the algorithm that search engines use to determine link popularity will take that into account, and the link popularity score will not be very good.

It is possible for a website with a relatively small number of quality inbound links to be ranked higher than a site with a bunch of irrelevant or insignificant links. If I have a website that offers quotes for auto insurance, and I have 800 quality inbound links, then I might receive a much higher search engine ranking than another mortgage site that has 3,000 links that stem from link farms or Free For All (FFA) pages.

If you try to acquire inbound by using link farms or FFA pages, not only will it hurt your search engine ranking, but you might get permanently removed from the search engine listings. Links farms are sites where you can instantly exchange links with all the sites listed in that directory. FFA pages are pointless link directories. The search engines usually discount any links that come from either of these sources.

Now that we understand what link popularity is and how it works, we need to look specifically at how Google measures it. They use a number of variables in their algorithm to calculate your overall link score. The higher your score, the higher you will be ranked in the search listings.

One factor that Google uses in their algorithm, obviously, is the total number of sites linking to you. The more links you have, the higher your score will be. However, their algorithm is a little more complicated than that, and it is possible for a website with fewer links to be ranked higher than a website that has more links.

The reason for this is because Google also measures the quality of your links. If your website is about vitamins, and the site linking to you is a video game site, then that is not considered a quality link. The link still helps your score, but the link would help your score much more if it were from a website whose subject matter is the same as yours.

Also, Google gives a higher score to a link if it comes from a page that has actual content that relates to your keywords. For example, if your site is about jewelry, and another jewelry website has posted a link to your site on their links page, that link is not as valuable as a link to your site coming from a blog or a message board where a lot of information about jewelry is being written or discussed.

Also, they give an even higher score to a link if it contains anchor text that matches one of the keywords that describes your site. For example, if I have a site that sells lawnmowers, and a blog about lawnmowers has posted a link to my site, it helps my score even more if the link text (also known as anchor text) is LAWNMOWERS. To learn more about anchor text, go to a search engine and look up ANCHOR TEXT and you will be able to learn about it.

Another factor used by Google to score your link popularity is the diversity of keywords contained on sites linking to you. For example, if you have a site that sells handbags, and all the links to your site are from other sites that contain nothing but the keyword HANDBAGS, Google considers that to be abnormal. To get a higher score, you need to have links coming from sites that contain a variety of keywords related to handbags, such as BUY HANDBAGS, LEATHER HANDBAGS, etc.

It is difficult to increase your link popularity, but now that you understand how your score is calculated, you can devise a plan to improve your score. You might want to consider posting to forums and blogs that contain information that is related to your site, and when you post, include a link to your site.

5 No BS Ways to Getting Online Sales

By Steve Tash

Here are 5 no BS ways to get more sales coming in. These are proven and simple things you can do right away.

1. Take the time to test your online marketing. You”ll save money and headache promoting the right offer to your exact targeted prospect. If the tests aren”t drawing the numbers you want, tweak your copy.

Take a look at what the weakness is with the competition, and use it as an angle in to more sales. It will become the reason why people buy your product or service and not theirs.

2. Up the offer. A deal is a great motivator to buy. Many marketers throw in a lot of extras attached to the offer. Show the perceived value of these too. You might give a free trial for a certain period of time. Limited time bonuses or a lower price can quickly push their purchasing decisions. Nothing like a little urgency attached to the deal.

3. Tell your prospects what they can avoid by buying your product or service. Remember the key buying motivators are to avoid pain. So create the emotional image in their minds of the fear or danger of not moving forward right away. Use action words throughout your marketing like, now, and today, click here, right away.

Likewise, letting prospects know what the future will be like if they get your business opportunity or product. Telling them what will happen with their life, how things can be better, sooner rather than later if they buy now.

So far I”ve mentioned testing your copy, upping the offer, and underlining key motivations for prospects to buy right away from you.

4. Create other marketing like blogs that can draw your initial target audience in to you. Then you can lead your prospects to your core business with links or a banner. Blogs are well worth the time you put into them. You can always hire a blogger inexpensively to post for you to your blog twice a day. Content, as you may know by now, is king on the Internet.

As traffic comes to the blog you might give your visitors a bonus for coming by. Up the offer from the blog site or shave the price down a bit from there. Let them know that if they go to the your core business site, they will notice the offer isn”t as juicy for them, or that the price is higher there.

A blog is a good way to help get your message out. Don”t make it a sales site though. All of your marketing and copy should be in line with your standards and what you would find valuable if you were looking for your type of product.

5. Consider ezines as a marketing tool with leverage. There are ezines dedicated to more subjects than you will ever know about. Explore the variety available that can be an angle for your business.

Your exact niche market is obvious and worth your attention, but how about breaking the niche down. For example, instead of selling your business opportunity to work at home moms, target it toward realtor’’s who aren”t making the money they”re use to. Also consider recent retirees.

It’’s a good idea to focus your ezine ad or article on info that the targeted readers and ezine publishers want. What does this mean for you? You will get published more often, which means more traffic and sales.
